Monroe County Hospital Rural Health Clinic is a full-service, family medical clinic located at 2016 S Alabama Avenue, Monroeville, AL. Our caring staff provides preventive and routine medical care for all ages.

Our goal is to provide Monroe County families with comprehensive medical care in a comforting, family-friendly environment right here in your hometown.

Dr. Thomas Wyatt Broughton - Dr. Broughton is a Board-Certified Family and Emergency Medicine Physician.  A Monroeville native, Dr. Broughton graduated from St. Matthews University in 2006.  He completed his residency at Columbus Regional Hospital in Columbus, Ga in 2011.  We are happy to announce that he joined our Rural Health Clinic here at Monroe County Hospital on October 23, 2023, as the Medical Director.  Dr. Broughton is the husband of Kowanda Broughton and together they have two beautiful daughters, Hannah Lillian and Ryliegh Elle.

Caroline Rainey, CPNP - Caroline Rainey received her BSN from the University of Alabama and her MSN from Vanderbilt University.  A board-certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, she has over 10 years of pediatric experience.  She is passionate about spending time educating her patients and their families and caring for them throughout their childhood.  Caroline has been providing care in the community for over 5 years.

Lydia Bonner, DNP, CRNP - Lydia Bonner began her nursing career in 2004 as a LPN after completing her studies at Reid State Technical college.  In 2007, she completed her Associate’s degree at Jefferson Davis Community College and became a RN.  She later received her Master of Science in Nursing Education from the University of Phoenix in 2015.  In 2020, she received her Post-master’s in Family Nurse Practitioner and went on to complete her Doctor of Nursing Practice in 2022, both from Troy University.  She is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner.  Lydia is an active member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, Alabama State Nurses Association, National Society of Leadership and Success, and Nurse Mentors.
