Rural Health Clinic

The Rural Health Clinic (RHC) is a full-service, family medical clinic located inside the hospital.  Our caring staff can provide your family with preventative and routine medical care for all ages.  We see patients of all ages ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics.  Our services include general practice, well child & adult visits, immunizations, women’s health services, contraceptive services, physicals, acute illness monitoring, chronic disease management, asthma management, and infection management.

Dr. Thomas Broughton
Dr. Thomas Broughton is a Board-Certified Family and Emergency Medicine Physician.  A Monroeville native, Dr. Broughton graduated from St. Matthews University in 2006.  He completed his residency at Columbus Regional Hospital in Columbus, Ga in 2011.  He joined our Rural Health Clinic on October 23, 2023, as the Medical Director.  Dr. Broughton is the husband of Kowanda Broughton and together they have two beautiful daughters, Hannah Lillian and Ryliegh Elle.
Ivy Brown
Ivy Brown is our board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner.  She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Mobile in 2002.  She brings 14 years of experience as a Registered Nurse, having worked in diverse and demanding areas such as Intensive Care, Emergency Care, and Surgery.  In 2015, she completed her Master’s in Nursing from Simmons University in Boston, Massachusetts, further enhancing her skills and knowledge in patient care.
Caroline Rainey
Caroline Rainey is our board-certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner.  She received her BSN from the University of Alabama and her MSN from Vanderbilt University.  She has over 10 years of pediatric experience and has been providing care in the community for over 5 years.  She is passionate about spending time educating her patients and their families and caring for them throughout their childhood.
Anna Ray Hilburn
Anna Ray Hilburn is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with a comprehensive background in healthcare, providing care across the lifespan. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Hospitality Management from the University of Mississippi and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Troy University. Anna Ray began her nursing career as a Registered Nurse in the Intensive Care Units at Jackson Hospital in Montgomery, Alabama. Over the years, she has accumulated diverse experience in Skilled Nursing Facilities, Infection Control, Quality Assurance, Clinical Nursing Instruction, and as a first assist in the Operating Room. In 2024, Anna Ray completed a dual Master of Science in Nursing degree, specializing in both Family and Adult Gerontology Acute Care, from the University of South Alabama.
